My team would like to estimate how much time each bug will take to finish, but there is no estimation field in the standard Bug template.
Is there a way to include the estimation field (the same one that is available in the Story record) in the Bug record?
Hello Paul,
Welcome to Atlassian community.
Are you using a next-gen project or a classic project?
To properly estimate your bugs on next-gen projects, you will need to navigate to your project settings > Issue-types > bug and add the Story points estimate field, since time tracking is not available for next-gen projects yet.
To properly estimate your bugs on Classic projects, you can choose between Story points or Time Tracking.
1 - For time tracking, you must enable it using this documentation and then add the field to your bug screens.
2 - For Story points, you must navigate to Jira Settings > Issues > Custom fields > Find the Story points field > Configure > Edit Configuration > Check the bugs issue type under Choose applicable issue types:
