Currently I have seen that Atlassian Remote MCP always requires browser authentication. Is it possible to do authentication through API tokens?

Hi @Vaishak S and welcome to Community.

I assume you're referring to https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-rovo-mcp-server/docs/getting-started-with-the-atlassian-remote-mcp-server/ ?

I don't think your use case can be achieved without the OAuth browser auth. If you want your backend to talk to Atlassian tools, you would need to build (and host) an MCP server, one that supports API tokens.

I actually have some colleagues who have built this before and could help you.

If that's something you're interested in, feel free to reach out on LinkedIn to chat about it.
