Can I host my own git service and integrate with JIRA as if it were hosted on GitHub?

I would like to host my own git service and integrate it with JIRA. Is this possible?

Answer accepted

If you are using Atlassian OnDemand, then unfortunatly this isn't possible. Currently it can only connect to GitHub/BitBucket.

Haris - a couple years late - but have you looked at the Git Integration for JIRA add-on: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.xiplink.jira.git.jira_git_plugin/
