Can I create a swimlane on my team-managed Kanban board?

Can I create a swimlane on my team-managed Kanban board? I've only seen an article on how to create it on a company-managed board.

You cannot define custom swimlanes in Team Managed agile boards at this time. The available swim lanes are defined in the Group By list.
