I am looking for a way to better track issues that we do not have a specific category for, but may need to add based on the requests which come in more commonly. Of course, we could just look at tickets which have no category and see what we have commonly being asked, but more conveniently we are wanting users to be able to type in their own category when selecting the "Other" option so they can describe the category themselves if no other one fits the bill.
We have the field named Issues Category and there are a bunch of options already. I can edit the raw options, re-organize their order, rename them, disable them, and remove them, but I am not finding a way to add a dynamic field to show up when selecting any specific one. Is this possible?
Hi Stephen,
No, you will not able to do that with an out of the box Jira Software space. You have a couple of options - one is to use a third party app like ScriptRunner Behaviours that will give you the conditional field showing up ability.
Or two, create a Jira Service Management space with an advanced form (ProForma form) that has the ability to do Conditional fields. Then you could clone the request from the JSM space into the Jira Software space.
Thank you for your response. I do not know if my company will utilize these third party apps, but I will at least bring it up as an option should we decide to move forward with it.
