Can I copy my Jira Directories from One Server to Another and Server and then run an Upgrade

anowesol

I am trying to perform an upgrade from jira 8.5.8 to the latest LTS. But I want to perform this upgrade on a new server. I copied the jira directories over to the new server and modified some files, but when I run the upgrade application it gives me an error: "The directory you have selected is not a valid Software installation directory". Is this possible? If so, am I missing something?

@anowesol

Its Possible to move the jira from one server to another server and them perform the upgrade. Just start the application to confirm its working fine after moving to the new server.

Regarding Error - When you perform the upgrade on new server you need to select the new installation directory which is present on new server for upgrade.

Accept the answer if it helps

Thanks,
Sachin
