Can I choose a template when creating Confluence pages in Jira?

When I create a Confluence page that is tied to a Jira issue, there is no screen to specify a template.
Where can I select a template?

We want to make it feasible without directly manipulating Confluence.

There is nothing that allows for you to do this. You can submit a feature request here https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=10440
