Can I change the information visible when viewing an issue?

I'm not a fan of the "new issue view" because it buries the in formation I use most way down on the right side panel. I'd like to make this more usable by removing fields I don't care about from view.

Hi @Matthew DePasquale, if you just want to change what fields you see in your personal view when editing an issue, click the "Configure Fields" tab and click the "Custom" link.  See screenshot.

If you're trying to change what's shown on the view screen for all users, you'll need to edit the "View" screen for the specific project and/or issue type.

Each project, and possibly each issue type within a project, can have 1-3 screens:  Create, Edit, and View.  You can see what the settings are by going to your project's admin area and clicking the "Screens" link.

Good to know:  There are some fields that are built into the Jira page template that you can't remove.  Some of those fields that you mention are on the right.  "Created" and "Updated" are examples.

Hope this helps!
