Can I administer JIRA without a browser

Hello, I'm having a problem. I made some field configuration changes and then backed up my JIRA instance and did a re-index. However, something broke, because when I went back to my dashboard I'm seeing only one issue assigned to me instead of the ten I know I have. When I do a query on the JIRA db via MySQL Workbench, I see the list of expected results. But the same query in JIRA via the web interface is only returning one result.

I'm guessing that somehow the re-index hosed things up. I'd like to restore the database, but I would like to do it without using a browser. I've turned off the JIRA service for the moment, because I don't want users to add data that I'll have to destroy. But I can't figure out how to import my backup without making JIRA accessible to anyone. The documentation isn't helping me at the moment, I'm probably not using the right search string. This is kind of time sensitive (no one can access JIRA as I'm writing this) so any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi SolitonMan, I think, noone can reach Jira while you're importing a backup. Good Luck Thomas

You can use a DB import (if you have a DB backup) while JIRA is offline and start JIRA once the import is done. Do a re-index after that is finished.
