Can I add the Story Point of Task to the Story contains it?

Tien Nguyen

Hi guys,

As I know that the story points of task is different from the story point we can see in the story, I am right?

If I'm wrong, is there any way to sum the story points of the tasks to the story contains them?

Thanks

Hi Tien Nguyen,

as of what i know,

story points: are for story where we can identify the complexity of story.

in sub task you can provide only original estimate time.

for example if you have 3 sub task in your story and each sub task taking 1 day then you can give 5 story point for task .

extra efforts

if you have admin permission then you can follow below steps :

Select the Jira icon> Jira settings

> Issues. Under FIELDS, select Custom Fields. Find the Story Points Field and note the Issue type(s) that are associated with it. To allow Tasks (or Bugs) to use Story Points open the three dot menu and select “Configure”.

Hope it will help to what you searching for.

Thanks
