Can I add custom fields to a form in Jiira?

I would like to add the long text feature into my Jira form, similar to how it is in JSM, is this possible?

I believe it will take a JIRA ADMINISTRATOR to do this (I do not know if a PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR can do it)

Nikola is correct but let me expand (and I am a picture guy).

• A Project has Issue Types (Enhancements and Bugs for example)
• The Project + IssueType has up to 3 screens tied to it (Create, View, Update)
• These screens may be shared with other projects 

So assume you want the field "Long Text Alpha" added to the Bug Screen for Project Bravo

1. Does the field exist?  If not, it will need to be added to your custom fields.
2. I recommend you avoid additional fields if possible :-).. I've seen many clients have similar fields defined multiple times.  I'll spare you the nightmare that can cause.  Add a field if you need it, but be sure it and its use are documented
3. now add the field to the create, edit, and view screens for Bugs.   Again, this may make your new field available to other projects

Good question! Since the forms in Jira are tied with an issue type, have you tried to add the custom field to the screen of that specific issue type of the project?
