Can Epics be disabled in GH 6.1.2 and beyond?

Sadly, epics are not robust and extensible enough to be used in our backlog model.

We're using a different scheme to manage the hierarchy of tickets.

As a JIRA architect, is there any way that I can disable Epic creation in GH now that the feature had graduated from labs?

It is not possible to disable epics, full discussion on GHS-6626.
