I am importing data from Trac into JIRA cloud. I have couple of custom fields in the import - Customer and Trac URL.
I have created a custom fields on the the Project Settings > Issue Types > Create new Field.
Then I tried import and while the import presented the fields at time of import and allowed me to map the field to a field present in the source csv, post import I did not see any value against the imported field.
JIRA in built fields had proper values.
I also tried creating Custom Field using
Jira Settings > Issues > Custom Fields
Then I did the CSV import. Again the import presented my newly created custom field while importing but the values do not show up after import.
Hello,
What is the type of the custom field? Are you sure that this field is present on the issue view?
Custom field (Jira settings) are of type URL and Select.
I have values that are relevant to those values.
I am not sure what you mean "by field is present on issue view" cause I can't see a way to get it to show up on the issue view.
The project that we are using is of type scrum.
The fields created using Project Settings > Issue Types > Create new Field are automatically visible on the issue screen

I got it. You have a next-gen project. It will not work for next gen projects.

Ideas on what I can do. I have 1600+ old tickets in Trac that I want to import.
