Hi Team,

I am planning to delete all available jira tickets in my jira project with bulk deletion option.

After the deletion, any other configuration will get deleted.. like the availbale jira project filter, dashboards, sprints..etc.

Please confirm.

Thanks,

Alby

Hi @Alby Siby

Bulk delete operation only deletes issues. Config, dashboards etc will remain in the system unless you delete them manually.

Hi @Alby Siby, It will delete only selected issues in the bulk operations. Rest things are available Jira project filter, dashboards, sprints..etc but it will not show any data if those issues are included in the filters, and sprints.

Hi Alby,

You can delete all of the issues and then delete the project itself. If the project was created as a stand alone project and not based on an existing project, then there will be the orphaned configurations.

You can use the Revyz Configuration Manager for Jira app to bulk delete configurations. You can do a free trial and knock out the items you want to delete.

Hi @Alby Siby ,

Bulk delete doesn't impact the configuration of your Jira project or filters but it will impact the report/reporting of sprints and other reporting. (i.e. Velocity chart & all)

Hope this will help.

Thanks

Hi Ankit,

I guess reports are based on the jira ticket status. So  if we delete the issue , reports should also get replicated the same.

Can you confirm any change the report configuration.

Thanks,

Alby

Hi @Alby Siby ,

Yes totally agree!
but but not everything depends upon the status of the issues.

Suppose if you delete all the issues of closed sprint, you are unable to view under velocity chart and yes you are able to view under sprint report but you are unable to reopen it.

Yes in filter query that sprint name/id is there are you are still use that id but unable to use as it's still closed in Jira with No issues.

Hope this will answer your concerns.
