Bulk Editing a Test Repository in Xray / Sort Order of Test Repository???

Dave November 21, 2021

I've been trying to perform bulk edits of Tests, such as reopening a group of tests or bulk adding a comment. The Test Repository doesn't seem to have this option, so I am using a Jira Search Query. I cannot seem to get an exact match to the sort order seen though!

Could someone please help with:

  • What is the actual sort order is on this repository? JQL using Created or Updated date doesn't seem to match, and none of my test issues appear to have been dragged up/down to create a 'rating'
  • What is an alternate way to bulk edit and/or export the list exactly as it is seen in the Test Repository?

example query, output doesn't match Test Repository list order:

project in (XXXX) AND type = test ORDER BY created DESC

FYI I am using Cloud Jira.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @Dave

Currently, the sort order in the Test Repository is done manually. However, we have this improvement suggestion (https://jira.getxray.app/browse/XRAYCLOUD-2919) reported and gathering the interest of our customers.
Please vote and watch it so that you can receive email alerts.

Currently, there is no option to bulk edit Test cases.

Please get in touch with Xray Support (http://Xraysupport.getXray.app) if you need further help.

Thank you.

Thanks! upvoted. Any chance you can confirm what would be the default order they would appear? e.g. if no users are reordering, it should match a search by created date (descending)?

Cheers.

Hi @Dave

The root folder is sorted by the updated date starting from the last updated (issues more recently updated are shown first). The user sets the order for user-created folders when the issues are dragged and dropped into the folder.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
