Just the fact that it lets you create a Sub-task from the Epic screen seems to be a bug to me. I would report this via Atlassian Support:
The contact form redirects here if you supply a a URL to your atlassian jira product. It seems to let me log a bug if I select 'Continue without URL'. That's ok, I'll just do that,

Hi Antoine, help me w/ 'Create Issue in Epic'. Where is this (Classic or NG)? Also perplexed about creating sub-task directly w/in an epic.

Not sure, it's in a company setup. I should have mentioned it's happening on JIRA cloud. But as John metnioned below, this might not be the right spot, as it's definitely a bug.
