Breaking changes in Issue Create REST API

Hi, I have a question on the rollout and testing for developer instance for the new feature about to be rolled out.

 

The deprecation notice found here talks about changes to how the API behaves after the customer opts in to the new compass components.

 

Quoting the relevant part that I'd like more information on:

 

Issues API

In both the v2 and v3 API, turning Compass component on will prevent users from creating issues with project components attached, or adding project components to existing issues. Removing project components from existing issues is still allowed.

 

I've started a trial on my instance of Compass, but there is no option for me to switch on the new feature in my Company managed project.

 

Where can I request the feature flag to be turned on for my developer instance so I could test this change?

 

Can I get some background into the implementation of the feature? My guess is that the new compass components are fetched from a separate service now. Is there a way to set this value via the REST API?
