I am trying to delete a board and have been troubleshooting as an admin and not sure if this is a bug or something wrong in our current version.
I have tried to delete the board from the project, boards, configure, delete AND going to view all boards to delete.
The option is available to delete, I select delete, get confirmation page, select continue and the board does not delete. I have tried to refresh the page to confirm it's not a UI issue and it is still there.
In the past we have deleted many boards so is a recent issue.
JIRA v9.6.0 DataCenter.
I just tested deleting a board in JIRA v10.3.20 DC w/o any issues. Is this a Sprint or Kanban board? Is it project based or JQL filter based? Did your install just go through an update? Screenshots?
this is a kanban board and it is using a JQL filter. I also confirmed I do not have any active sprints for that project which I know sometimes can cause an issue for a board to be deleted.

no recent updates which is why it's odd that it's happening. I can check to see if we can upgrade our version to see if that would correct the issue.

@Mary Lewis - So you go to the Board, click on the Board button > Configure, then Board Button again > Delete. You get the "Are you sure you want to delete board name?" Hit the blue Delete button and then where do you go?

the dialogue box of are you sure goes away after selecting yes and then the board is still there, I have even then refreshed the page and it is still there.

Hello @Mary Lewis
Open the browser developer tools (F12 → Network) and watch what happens when you confirm the deletion.
Also check <JIRA_HOME>/log/atlassian-jira.log from exact timestamp you attempted to try deleting board. Theres many possibility why it could failed.
Best,
Arek🤠

It seems to be working as intended on Jira Cloud. Did you try with a different browser? Also anything in the audit log?

I will try another browser and check the audit log but did have multiple users confirm it was not working for them.

audit log is not showing activity of the delete, I can find where the boards were created in the audit log only.
