Blocked status not in workflow

Hello, 
I created a new Blocked column in our agile board but there is no workflow or status for it. I cannot move my stories into the block status or drag a story when in active board mode into the Blocked status.

A column is a collection of issues in one or many mapped status from your workflow.  If you don't have a status in your workflow, there's nothing a board can do.

You need to talk to your project or Jira admins about adding a status to the workflow to represent "blocked"
