I have a bunch of stories that have components already set, and all the sub-tasks under those stories have no components set.
I basically want to bulk edit all these existing sub-tasks to inherit their parent story's component. I was hoping the bulk edit option allowed for smart values, but apparently that's not the case.
I can easily handle doing this for all future sub-tasks via automation, but i have a couple thousand existing sub-tasks I need to update. I'm sure there's probably a way to build a manual trigger automation rule to do this, but is that really the best/only way (aside from scripting something)?
Hi, you can bulk edit and change the component. However, this must be done parent story by parent story. I've recently done this for a few hundred epics.
Hi @Heather Barcomb - I've run into similar situations and I've gone the route of a manual automation.

Yes that would be a nice feature. I briefly searched to see if someone has added a feature request, but I haven't found anything.
