Best security practices for Jira and Website being hosted on windows PC

I will be hosting a joomla website on my windows 7 PC using wampserver(Apache, mysql and PHP) and jira on context path with postgre using reverse proxy method. I wanted to know about your past experiences with security practices and from where should I start?
