Being removed as a watcher

Chandler Parker
July 22, 2021

Previously in Jira (mid-late 2020 and before), once I clicked the 'eye' to watch an issue, I was a watcher on that item in perpetuity.

At some point, this changed. Somewhere in our issue workflow, all watchers are now being removed from an issue. I can't tell exactly where this is happening; it seems to happen in more than one transition.

Was this a change to functionality, or is this a bug? Can this be corrected inside my organization's specific workflows anywhere?

As @Jack Brickey  indicates I did not experience this type of anomaly. I think it could be because of the keyboard shortcut that pressing "w" removes or adds the current user viewing the task.

I have not experienced this. If I click the eye a second time it will stop watching.
