Hello @Steven Nelson

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Can you provide more information about what you mean by "new format"? Are you in an environment where your company has switched from using Jira Server or Data Center to using Jira Cloud?

Are you asking about hands on training for a Jira Cloud environment?

If you are working for a company providing a Jira environment, you should talk to the support or training teams in that company to find out what options they provide for hands-on training.

If you are doing this on your own, and you want to go through hands on training for a Cloud product, then you can set up your own subscription to the the product, manage it yourself, and do whatever you want to make it compatible with hands-on training materials that you are referencing.

For Cloud you can subscribe to Free versions of the products, but that will have limited functionality. You can upgrade to a Free Trial of a paid version (the Standard or Premium versions), but those trials are for a limited time. You either have to start paying for them, cancel them, or downgrade them to the Free version. You can find the options for starting a subscription on the Atlassian web site when reviewing the information available there for each product.

Atlassian has recently shifted most of its official training into the **Atlassian University** platform, which now uses a mix of on-demand courses, live instructor-led sessions, and skill badges rather than the older purely hands‑on simulation format. The legacy lab‑based “hands-on” modules with interactive environments and step‑by‑step exercises are still available in certain paid courses, especially the *Pro Skills* and *Team Playbook* workshops, but the free skill badge assessments are now primarily test‑driven ([Atlassian University overview](https://university.atlassian.com/student/catalog)).
