Basic Search - how to disable auto update option

Dusan Spaic

Hi,

In this Basic Search Documentation

for Jira DC it is written

The search results will automatically update in the issue navigator, unless your administrator has disabled automatic updates of search results. If so, you will need to click the Update button on the field drop-down after every change.

But there is not a single documentation to explain how to actually do it.

I want to disable auto update and I found in system properties

jira.issuenav.criteria.autoupdate

with it's value true. I tried adding

-Djira.issuenav.criteria.autoupdate=false to catalina options and restarting my instance - I find 2 times (twice) this option : once with value true and one with value false.
This option is not in a official list of a recognized system option.
Can anyone explain me how to change this option value?
Thanks

Hi @Dusan Spaic

Go to the Jira settings and choose the System option, pick General configuration.

In the Options section you will find the "Auto-update search results" option, use the Edit settings button to change this.

Be aware if many search actions are done in your instance, this can impact performance.
