Based on the status change the date field start ,pause and resume

Hello Team

i have one date field when i moved to Inprogress status the custom field will start the calucating the time and hours and when i move to other status the field will pause and then when i moved to Inprogress the field will start when its paused how to do that in jira cloud automation

What problem are you trying to solve by doing this?  That is, "why do this?"  Knowing that will help the community offer better suggestions.

Until we know that...

 

It appears you are trying to implement a measurement for time-in-status, including potentially pausing the measurement.

Except for very simple scenarios, that is not possible as you describe.  The reason is a work item (i.e., issue) could move into and out of a status repeatedly.  And so the changes would be a list of date / time values (which is what the changelog does) or a sum of the time in / out of the field.

Have you tried using the built-in control chart to try observing the measures for time-in-status?
