Hello,

Can we make a restore of the indexes directory with a external software like commvault or only with a Jira index snapshots?

We have daily backups of the directory that contains the indexes files with external software.  We are not sure if this hot backup will work in case of any problem.

Thanks

You can take a copy of the indexes by simple file backup of the directory that contains them.

You should be backing up the whole home directory though, for a proper backup, not just the indexes (there's no reason to backup the indexes other than for when you're about to run a full rebuild, which is something you don't need to do very often, if at all, or as part of a complete system backup)

you mention 'restoring'. DO NOT do anything with the database outside of the built in backup and restore process.
