Backlog Does Not Load Since New UI Rolled Out

Matt Allen July 31, 2025

Since the new UI was rolled out I have found on numerous occasions that when I click the backlog tab along the top of the active sprint view, it does not load and just stays on the active sprint view.  If I click (say) reports tab next to backlog, that loads fine.  If I then clock backlog to try force it to load from the reports tab, it just loads the active sprint back.

Any thoughts as this is a constant problem that happens on and off.

I have tried different browsers and different PC (laptop and desktop), still happens.

Hi @Matt Allen,

This sounds like a browser caching issue with the new UI. Try these quick fixes:

  1. Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R)
  2. Clear browser cache for your Jira instance specifically
  3. Try incognito/private browsing to see if it works there
  4. Disable browser extensions temporarily to rule out conflicts

If it's happening across multiple browsers and devices, it's likely an instance-specific issue that Support will need to investigate with server logs.

The workaround for now: try accessing backlog via direct URL (yourinstance.atlassian.net/jira/software/projects/PROJECT/boards/BOARD/backlog) and bookmark it.

If none of these help, definitely raise that support ticket as @Karan Sachdev suggested - they'll need your instance details and browser console logs.

Feel free to DM me if you need help with any of these troubleshooting steps!

Hey @Matt Allen

There are no such known issues with the new navigation. Do you know if other users from your instance are also facing the same?

It would be good to raise a support ticket with all the known details, our team will look into it.

Thanks!

Hi @Matt Allen

I think it's best to reach out to Atlassian Support, might be an instance issue
