Automations and Linking Issues Between Projects

Good morning all. Quick question about Automations for linked issues.

I have one project, with issues like ABC-123, where when an issue is linked to other ABC issues, it sends my email alerting the assignee, no problem.

But we have another project that we frequently need to link to, so ABC-123 to XYZ-987.

Do I need to create the same rule that is in ABC in XYZ? Because that's where I'm having a problem receiving the automated email.

For a question like this, please post an image of your complete automation rule, images of any relevant actions / conditions / branches, an image of the audit log details showing the rule execution, and explain what is not working as expected.  Those will provide context for the community to offer ideas.  Thanks!

Your rules may be encountering scoping issues...

• Project scope rules can create and clone issues into other projects, but they cannot "see" or update them for other rule needs
• A multiple-project or global scope rule can access and update rules in different projects

Your Jira site admin will need to help if you need a multiple-project or global scope rule; those are defined in the global administration areas of Jira.
