Automation rule to sync component between parent and subtasks

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing great. I am still training, and have been able to automate the parent component or components populating on subtasks, but when I clean the components off the parent, I want them also to clean off the subtasks. This is what my automation rule looks like now:

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

When copying data from another issue for the Components field you have the option to add the data to what is already there or replacing the data. There is not an option for selectively deleting values.

Adding to or overwriting the values is specified by the checkbox shown below.

If you want the field in the child issue cleared when the field in the parent issue is cleared you need to uncheck the box.

Based on your screen image you appear to have checked that box, so the rule will only add values to the child issues.
