Automation rule for different statuses

Hello,

I want to create a rule to change issue's statuses from "In progress" to their corresponding "TO DO" status, for example, I have A [TO DO] and A [In Progress], and the same for B, B [TO DO] and B [In Progress"], I want to create an automation rule some both A and B will move from In Progress to TO DO in the End of the day. The transition name from In Progress to TO DO called "pause" so I though it might help me but I didn't found any way to accomplish this task.

The issue is that I have a huge workflow and it will be hard to create automation rules for each status and even harder to maintain.

What problem are you trying to solve?  That is, "why do this?"  Knowing that may help the community to offer better suggestions for the scenario.
