I am trying to calculate the sum of original estimates from subtasks through automation. At the start, this automation rule works fine, but later, the original estimates keep reverting to their previous value. Please guide me, on how I can fix this problem.

The automation works twice for the original automation, but I am unable to figure out the problem.

Hi @Zohaib Lodhi -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You do not show the remainder of your rule, the details of the Remaining Estimate edit, or all of audit log details, and so I am guessing a bit here...

First, if you view the audit log from the list of all rules, do you see multiple rules running?  If so, another rule is changing the value.

Next, are there any other changes to Original Estimate in that same rule?

Finally, why is your rule using two branches to edit the fields?  Have you tried to perform these in one step?

  • trigger: manually triggered
  • action: edit issue, changing both the Original Estimate and Remaining Estimate

Kind regards,
Bill
