Automation help - when a child ticket is created, it inherits the outward link from Epic

Scenario: In Product Discovery, an idea is pushed to a JIRA project (company managed) as an epic, and the JPD idea is linked to the epic as "implements" 

 

We want all child tickets that are added to that epic to also be linked to the original JPD idea. Anyone know a slick way to make that happen in an automation? I've combed over the rules and have made it to using this smart value - 

{{issue.epic.issuelinks.outwardIssue}}

 

Just not sure how to use it to make a ticket link. Would appreciate any help!

As soon as I ask the question, I figured it out, so I'll share findings:

 

It didn't leap out at me that I can copy and paste a smart value in the dropdown (even tho it says that in the small print). I was seeing 2 options, so good to know for the future!
