I have automation set to input start dates when an issue is pulled into "In Progress" status in the workflow. I have deleted several issues and now the automation works but continues to send me fail notices because it is looking for the deleted issues? How do I fix this?

Based on the error message that you included in the screenshot above the issue is with the user that the rule is running as, not deleted issues. Have you made any changes to your permission scheme or change the user that the automation is running as? By default the permission scheme has the project role atlassian-addons-project-access assigned to all permissions, this is to apps have access to the project and can make changes to it. This also includes automation.
This is an incorrect assumption. It is not a permissions issue - that's just the fallback error that Jira throws because when cannot find the issue.

This might help
Execute this rule immediately when the rule is triggered, instead of in the background

Hi Christina,
I have not seen that error before. Have you removed the link in the trigger issue? The delete should have done that, but something might have dropped.
And you are sure that issue has been deleted? Can you see other issues on that same TAMPIT project?
