Hi. I built an automation flow that works fine. It creates a new issue in "Project B" and sets a link between the issue in "Project A" and the new issue in "Project B". So, i can see the link but the other users can't see it.
The users are working in "Project A" and have no permission to view "Project B". Is this the reason? I would expect that they can see the link and the status of the linked issue but can't open the linked issue, no?
Hi @KarstenK,
No. Your assumption that this is caused by the permission to view (issues in) project B is correct. If you're telling users that they don't have access to a project, they will not be able to see issues from that project anywhere in Jira. Not even as links on other issues they are allowed to see.
Hope this explains!
Hi, I know this is quite stale--but it explains my issue exactly.
We need the test_user in question to see the linked items without giving them a "service desk team" role in "project B". Do you have any ideas on how to solve for this? Currently the test_user has the permissions "browse project" and "link issues" in both of the projects. I have no issue viewing the linked issues, but the test_user cannot.
