When a user transitions an issue to a status, we want a comment to be automatically entered so that the reporting customer can see progress but the user doesn't have to enter the same dialogue on every issue. Custom Notifications doesn't allow for specific transitions to be selected or I'm missing it.
I have two transitions in one workflow that need this "auto-reply" implemented on but I see many other projects in my organization that could use this functionality as well.

I believe that you can do it using the automation.
I've created this one as an example:
This automation will be applied to all tickets on the project.
