Automatic work logging: Start Date is set to End Date

Michel Pittelkow December 18, 2011

Hi there,

I'm working with the automated work log Feature of the Eclipse Connector, when working on an Issue in Jira. When I finished the work, the popup for entering the information appears.

The field for starting date/time is automatically set to the current time, but the starting date was X hours/minutes ago. Is it possible to automatically set the date to the time I activated work on the Issue? I don't want to log the starting time on a second note or something like that.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Michel,

Now I can see that. I have reported an issue for the Eclipse Connector: https://studio.atlassian.com/browse/PLE-1339

Cheers,

Jacek

Hello Michel,

Unfortunately there is currently no way to set start time to the time when issue was activated.

May I ask how do you use start time value after reporting?

Cheers,

Jacek

Hi Jacek,

currently there are two time/date fields in the log entry on jira's work logged tab. The time I logged the work and the time it started. It wouldn't make any sence to me if there were both fields with the same time. As I view the time between an issue was activated and closed, I also want to see, how long the work lasted on that issue. If the automatic time log field is set to current time when stopping the work there is a high potential that manually entered time values are not precise enough for valuable output data.

Thanks,

Michel

Hi Michel,

Can you post a small screenshot how it looks like? I can see only one pair of time/date on the worklog tab.

Cheers,

Jacek
