Automated backups

Oren Bezalely October 25, 2019

when i perform an automated backup from the cloud (scripts provided here https://bitbucket.org/atlassianlabs/automatic-cloud-backup/src/master/)  it generates a small zip file on my PC, even though I've requested attachments to be backed up in the script.  Given all the attachments uploaded I would expect the backup to be huge!  Please advise on what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

Oren

Hello Oren and welcome to the Community!

Glad you found the script and you’re able to use it. Unfortunate that it’s not including attachments though. With this said, can you please let us know if you're using the Bash script or the Windows Powershell script? This will allow us to test to figure out what’s going on with the lack of attachments within the backup.

We look forward to hearing back to help find the cause of the missing attachments.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers

Upon further inspection it does seem to include the attachments.  I'm using the powershell script with setting $attachments = 'true' .

The output .zip file contains a data\attachments directory and the total size of the extracted data matches the 'storage' value of 184 MB.   I'm just surprised that all of the attachments haven't come to more than that.

Hello again Oren,

Happy to know you’re able to get the attachments coming through within the script. If you’re finding missing attachments please do let us know so we may investigate further. When I updated and worked on the Powershell scripts we confirmed all was present within the zip file that was within the Jira site.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Community for any further questions on the scripted backups.

Regards,
