Automate user addition in jira cloud

I’m a Jira admin.

I am looking for possible options to automate process of Jira user.

Currently, we are having a separate project in JIRA [JSM]handling these requests. Team managers will raise the tickets in the project and then it will be picked by JIRA admin to create the users.

I am looking to automate the JIRA admin work, Once the ticket is moved to approve status[by Jira admin], then a post funtion should run which will pick email id of the user from the custom field “User email id’s for creation” and add user under “jira-software-user” group. Could you please help me generating a custom script?

I want to achive it via Automation rule or script runner plugin

Although I have not used this feature, have you investigated using JSM Journey features with automation rules to do the onboarding?
