Automate Label assignment based on linked epic?

Hello I'm trying to automate label assignement as much as possible for created issues. Is there a way to auto assign a label to a story based on the epic it is linked to? For example: 

If Issue is created and Epic link is X then apply Label X

If issue is created and Epic link is Y then apply Label Y

I'd do this in two separate automation rules, but I can't figure out how to get one of those statements work.

Hi @Jared McNeil and welcome to the community,

First of all: yes, this is possible.

You would use "Issue created" as the trigger, add a JQL condition with something like:

"Epic Link" = X

with X being your Epic X, and finally use an "Edit issue" action to add the label. The whole automation should look something like this:
