Auto assign to component lead only when the assignee field is not changed

I would like to be able to assign an issue to the component lead when an assignee is not picked by the reporter; however, if an assignee is picked, the field should not be changed to the component lead.

The selection of automatic actually does this, AFAIK. And if unassigned values are not allowed, user has no chance to leave the assignee as unassigned.

The selection of automatic does not do this for sub-tasks, even though Component carries over from the parent it doesn't honor automatic assignee
