Auto Login with Jira and Confluence Windows Domain

Ahm March 8, 2023

I am using Jira Server v9.2.0 and Confluence Server 7.19.1 versions. I provided a connection to LDAP to login. What steps do I need to provide for the personnel to log in automatically when entered from the browser in Jira and Confluence, based on the windows login information of the personnel in the internal systems?

Thanks everyone.

Edit:

Doesn't Atlassian have a solution for this issue other than plugins? We are not a fan of using plugins.

You can also look at EasySSO. I use it with kerberos authentication and it works great.

Of course, if you are on server you will need to upgrade to datacenter before you can buy new addons now.

Hi @Ahm

I believe you are talking about using SSO with Kerberos (Windows), if this is correct, I would recommend that you use an app from the marketplace called Kantega SAML SSO OIDC Kerberos Single Sign-on for Jira | Atlassian Marketplace (Jira) and Kantega SAML SSO OIDC Kerberos Single Sign-on for Confluence | Atlassian Marketplace (Confluence).

These apps will make it easy to configure the Kerberos authentication for your apps. Also their support is awesome and will help you anytime.

Hope this helps you!

Regards.
