We need public access for our customized project but jira recommends to crate a self service group so that every person can add his/himself as a member. But what about the roles of the self service group members and also other members?

Self service group members should only be project viewers.

Is it possible to add members out of the self service group who have another authorization (assignee, reporter etc.)?

Thank you for the answers in advance!

Hi Fatih

Are you reffering to project role membership configuration in JIRA ? If yes, unfortunately I don't think this configuratin is possible. Since you mention the self service group members should only be project viewers. The users inside this group woudn't able to grant for other permission such as become an assignee or reporter. It is only allow if you have the require permission in this page: Managing Project Permissions

Hope it helps!

Cheers :)
