Hi Community,
Most organizations work with different people on their sites. Often several of these will have their own Atlassian Accounts (an account not managed by the organization who owns the site being worked on).
If a non-managed user decides to delete their account, all their actions in i.e. Jira will say “Former user” and not the name of the actual person who performed the action.
Let’s say that a person has written a comment on a work item, approving something and this audit trail is important. If the user then deletes their account, this audit trail will be missing, if I understand correctly.
I’m wondering how others handle this issue and would appreciate your input.
Best regards
Claus
Update: Based on a ticket I raised at Atlassian support, the following suggestion has been created: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-95135
Although concerning Confluence, this suggestion is very much corresponding with my concern regarding Jira: Retain and Display Deleted User Names in Confluence for Accurate Audit Logs and Historical Tracking
