Hi Community,
We’re setting up Jira Service Management Chat integration with Microsoft Teams.
We successfully added the Assist app to our agent-only channel, and agents can create and respond to tickets from Teams.
However, we are unable to find or add the “Atlassian Virtual Agent” app to our customer-facing channel (TechConnect > General). The Teams “Add agents and bots” menu only shows:
Jira Bot
Assist
We expected to see Atlassian Virtual Agent, but it does not appear in our Teams app store.
To confirm my understanding:
| App | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Jira Bot | For basic Jira Cloud notifications only (not JSM chat) |
| Assist | For agents only — create, manage, and respond to tickets |
| Atlassian Virtual Agent | AI chatbot for customers — required for JSM Virtual Agent chat in Teams |
My question for the community:
If yes, then we will request the admin to:
Teams Admin Center → Teams apps → Manage apps → Search “Atlassian Virtual Agent” → Allow
Please confirm if this is the correct step, or if there is anything else required to make the Virtual Agent appear as an available bot in Teams channels.
Thank you!
