Hello, I am currently taking my first steps in Jira.
I have created an Assets object/s field. When I add this to my board, I do not see this field as a dropdown. This means I always have to click on the work item before I can change this field. Is there a more efficient way to implement en use this field, as a dropdown, search field or something?
Many thanks!
Yes, you always have to select a work item make changes to a field in the List view.
Hi, @Marc -Devoteam- thanks for your reply.
Did you mean this:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Field values can only be changed if the fields are on the screen used by the work types,
The option you are providing, is that this field is available to be used with all work types, it doesn't mean that the field is on the screens.
Also view on a project differ on usage, not all fields on an issue can be edited on multiple issues.
Most fields can only be edited, if the specific issue is selected.
You can also search for issues and do a bulk edit.
What do you exactly want to achieve.
Also when opening an issue, use the 3dot option and the option "Where is my field"

Hi Marc, i want to select one item (user) from the assets users to select the functional owner for a epic, subtask,...
The field is associated with all my screens.

To fill this field on an issue, you need to select the issue and edit the field.
Not al field types are inline editable in the All Work view.

That's sad 😉.
And there's not an other way around? Like a dropdown field that get filled by assets?

A field of type Assets in the basis a dropdown single or multi select based on the configuration.
