Are you able to rename an issue to something else and bring all the subtasks with it

Hi, i am trying to create a new issue called Key Initative to replace Epic, as Epic is going to be used for the software dept. I have created the new issue but how to i change all items that were Epic to Initative and bring over the sub catagories that are associated with those epic's or am i am able to do this?

You should be able to perform a bulk-edit depending on your rights, probably a bulk-move to the newly created issue type. Make sure that the new issue type is in the target issue type scheme...
