Are there Jira report that provide invididual velocity

Buratt, Scott January 21, 2022

Is there a way to run a report against an individual resource to show velocity through the various sprints?

I think it should be a pivot chart where "Assignee" should be one dimension,  "Sprint" should be another, and maybe the "Status" ("done" vs everything else) is the third. You could create t hierarchy of these dimension as you wish. Plus, the "Story points" field should be the only metric.

Our Better Excel Exporter app offers something like this out of box under the name "Committed vs Completed Report". Give it a try. If it is not 100% what you look for, it's very easy to customize.

(It's a paid/supported app that my team develops.)

Jira does not provide anything like that.

Velocity is a team measure, not an individual measure, and it makes little or no sense for individuals anyway.   So Jira does not bother to do it.

What problem are you thinking an individual velocity might help with?

Hi @Buratt, Scott

Welcome to the Community!!

You will have to work around some stuff to get this thing done, rather it's for the team - the velocity is calculated, may I know why resource?

So here's the stuff

Create a JQL how the resource is decided (may be assignee)

Create a two-dimensional filter where your story point will show the data based on the assignee.

Here you will not get the forecast, and previous sprint data will not be shown!!

Let me know if you have any queries on this

Thanks,
Pramodh
