Hi all, I feel like I'm missing something.

A user wants to use the "Filter Subscriptions" to look after a filter, but instead of letting them subscribe to specific users or something. I can only choose a group?

I'd rather not create groups for every team who just want to subscribe to a certain filter. So I wonder if maybe I'm looking at subscriptions in the wrong place?

Cheers

Hi @Calvin ,

You can select to specify yourself or a group as a recipient. However, you can only select a group that you are a member of.

If no suitable group is available, you can also share the filter with other users and invite them to subscribe themselves.

@Calvin

Yes, filter subscriptions in Jira are mainly for groups. You can’t subscribe individual users directly.

To manage this without creating many groups, you could:

  1. Create fewer groups that include multiple teams.
  2. You can share the filter with specific users, so they can check it directly without needing to subscribe.
  3. Use automation to notify users based on filter criteria.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Shreeja
