Archive projects

Hi everyone, I'm planning a platform upgrade from Jira Software 7.0.x to 8.x and I would like to archive some old projects. These projects have a lot of custom functionalities added from various free/paid plugins. Some free plugins are incompatible with the upgrade so they will be replaced. My question is if there is a way of keeping in the new Jira Instance the old projects that I want to archive, without taking the time to apply all the new changes to them (conditions/postfunctions/scripts). I just want these projects "frozen" to be able to search the issues. Thank you, Teo

Hi @Teodor Clipa ,

The best solution would be to add an "Online Archived" or "Read-Only" Permission Scheme to your instance and associate it with the projects you would like to be affected. You can leave the "Browse Projects" permission active to desired users/groups/roles, but remove permissions for any other functionality.

Thank you @Michael Andolfatto

This solution still means that I will need to replace the CFs provided by the plugins incompatible with the upgrade with new ones, and change the projects list context?

I want all the information from the issues of the archived projects to be visible without the need to manually make changes to the custom fields context. Thank you, Teo
