Archive only captures last few months

Carissa Le November 18, 2025

I am using Jira Project Discovery. I read that the archived items are not deleted after a certain timeframe. However, looking in my archive, I only see the last 149 items that have been updated within the last 9 months.

I am not able to see any items that have been archived prior to 9 months ago. Does anyone know why this might be? Or how I can view those older items?

Update: Looking into each item, they seem to all be there but there was some system event in Jira that "Updated" all archived items on the same date.

Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to search for items that have been completed and archived in a certain time-frame. If anyone has any ideas on how to best search/filter by the archive date.

Archived items in Jira are not automatically deleted after a certain timeframe, they are stored indefinitely until manually deleted. The limitation you are encountering, only seeing items from the last nine months, is likely due to the specific settings of the Jira Product Discovery view or the system's display limit for archived items or your permissions.

Thanks Marshall,

After looking deeper into each item, they seem to all be there but there was some system event in Jira that "Updated" all archived items on the same date.

Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to search for items that have been completed and archived in a certain time-frame. Would you have any ideas on how to best search/filter by the archive date.
